RACING
DINGHY TEAM RACING
Strathclyde have 5 team racing teams. Team members train most Saturdays for the Scottish leagues (in order to qualify for the British University Finals).
The leagues are held on 3 weekends and over a competition you’ll do lots of races against lots of different teams. Our main focus is to qualify for the BUSA Team Racing Championship.
It’s done in Fireflies: very manoeuvrable double-handers.
Team racing is a fast-paced tactical game in which two teams of 3 boats race around a course, the winner being the team with the lowest combined finishing positions. The course is short with lots of corners to give maximum opportunity for place switching, and the whole race usually only lasts about 5 or 10 minutes.

MATCH RACING
Strathsail is one of the foremost yacht and keelboat racing teams in Scotland.
Our main focus is on the BUSA Match Racing Championship held every year at Weymouth on Eliotts where we send one team. We also compete in the Ceilidh Cup at the RNCYC on Sonars at the start on the year.

YACHTING
Strathsail is one of the foremost yacht and keelboat racing teams in Scotland. We have represented our nation at the Student Yachting World Cup for 3 years running.
Our main focus is on the BUSA Yachting Championship held every year at Portsmouth in Beneteau First 40's where we send as many teams as we are able.
We also compete at the SSS Yachting Championship on 7o7s at Port Edgar and other 7o7's events in Scotland.
