RACING

DINGHY TEAM RACING

Strathclyde have four team racing teams. Trainings run all Saturdays at Fannyside Loch in Cumbernauld. All teams compete in three Scottish Student Sailing qualifying leagues throughout the year. These culminate in the top qualifying for the BUCS team racing finals at the end of the year. We also participate in open competitions throughout the year, so there's plenty of opportunity to get stuck in!

Team racing is a fast-paced tactical game in which two teams of 3 boats race around a course; the winner being the team with the lowest combined finishing positions. The course is short with lots of corners to give maximum opportunity for overtakes, and the whole race usually only lasts about 5 or 10 minutes.

We also compete at the SSS Yachting Championship on 7o7s at Port Edgar and other 7o7's events in Scotland.
