University of Strathclyde Sailing Club welcomes university sailors interested in learning about the thrilling world of sailing team racing. This exciting format, popular in the UK at university level, follows the rules of the British Universities Sailing Association (BUSA). Team racing involves two teams of three boats each, competing against each other using tactics and strategy to out-manoeuver their opponents. 

In a typical race, each team aims to get their combined finishing positions as low as possible. Boats from opposing teams engage in intense duels, employing clever tactics such as blocking, slowing down, or forcing penalties on their opponents. With tight mark roundings and rapid changes in position, teamwork, communication, and adaptability are essential for success in this fast-paced and dynamic sailing discipline. Each race is short and rapid, packed with action. Speed round the course isn't essential here- as long as you slow your opponents down!
